natural materials for grounding

landscape and garden design in london
The natural garden in Raynes Park, London, was designed in January 2024. Landscaping began in April 2024 and was completed by early July. The installation of the bespoke garden room started in the autumn of 2023 and finished in March 2024.
We were tasked with creating a garden that emphasised natural and organic materials. Combined with a vibrant mix of shrubs and herbaceous perennials, this would establish a garden centred on peace, tranquillity, and grounding.
The natural organic garden includes Kent Ragstone Rocks, which create a unique style. We use the Ragstone for the rockery, and the water wall into the wildlife pond and to form natural steps from the upper patio to the lawn area, creating interest, and adventure in how the garden is accessed and used.

Tumbled mint sandstone is a natural stone known for its soft, serene hues, ranging from pale mint to subtle beige and grey undertones. The tumbled finish gives the stone a smooth, rounded texture, making it smooth underfoot and ideal for a natural organic garden. The unique tumbled effect provides a soft ambience to this patio space.

It is essential to use natural materials when creating an organic garden. Our dry stream concept features oak for the raised beds, Scottish pebbles and cobbles for a beach-like effect, and tumbled mint sandstone for the stepping stones. Using cobbles and pebbles helps prevent flooding while providing a natural drainage solution for the garden.
